This is Williams at his best. There's no one who can assemble voluminous information and tie it together like he can. I was fortunate to get an advance copy of this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The format was terrific because it made it easy for the reader to follow. There is a list of people, "leading rogues" as the author calls them, a chronology as well as a list of abbreviations to which the reader can refer. It is also wrttten in short sections so you can pick it up and not have to wait until the end of the chapter to put it down. I won't kid you, though, this is a heady read with a lot of critical information to digest but it flowed very well. Two thumbs up.
