Pratchett's earliet tales, finally jump the pond.
I'm a huge Pratchett fan from "Good Omens" to today, though in recent years the DIscworld books have been leaving me with a distinct "meh" feeling. At one point I loved them so much, I would special order them from Britain rather than wait for American editions.

I was excited to see this edition. (Which came out earlier in England). And as you can tell by my star rating it is fun enough. Maybe three and a half...but I love the guy.

As a Creative Writing Teacher (and Children's Librarian), I will say that this is obviously the work of a young writer. It reminds me of my students. Lots of Deus ex Machina, much more telling than showing, easy humor and at times predictable. His signature footnotes are tacked on (though often quite funny) and I wonder if they are part of the editing his adult self (and editor) did.
