An art book that feels very padded for length.
This book takes the art work created for Doug Drexler's "Ships of the Line" calendar series and places them into a single hard cover book. The book is primarily cg artwork showing various scenes of different ships in action. If you are looking for detailed diagrams or profiles of the ships then this book isn't for you.
The art is primarily of Starfleet ships, mostly confined to the hero ships from the TV shows and movies. The scenes portrayed range from the renditions of events that happened in the shows and movies, while others are routine Starfleet activities. A few original designs are also included however they are the exception and not the rule. The quality of the art varies wildly from picture to picture, some are close to TV quality, but others are quite poor in their detail. The pictures based on the Original Series are particularly low detail. The pictures are also very clearly cropped from their original calendar format which is rather sad...
