There are very few authors on my auto-buy list. I discovered Lisa Unger about a year ago, quickly read everything she has written, and then the deal was sealed with last year's In the Blood. This latest novel, Crazy Love You, did not disappoint. This author gets better and better.

The plot takes us back to The Hollows, a seemingly idyllic town near New York City, where Ms. Unger has set her stories before. Two of my favorite characters make an appearance here--Eloise Montgomery (a reluctant psychic) and James Cooper (a retired cop who understands more about his strange town than he'll freely discuss). Although their parts are small, it was great "seeing" these characters again, like running into old friends.

This time around we meet Ian. Ian writes graphic novels (aka comic books). He has a seriously screwed up family history, a rap sheet, and a friend named Priss. Lisa Unger is extremely adept at writing flawed characters whom you might dislike or even...
